Above is proof of us filming over the different stages to create out music video. I had a lot of fun in the time doing so!
Final Edit
Above is the final edit of my music video. We took on board all of the feedback which we were given from the class to create the best possible video. I am very happy with it.
autograph final
This is the autograph which we chose to use in the end when signing things for fans. I think this looks really effective and we chose to use stars as part of the autograph to make it look young and fun. This could also be adapted by using a yellow colour rather than black.

Digipak draft
Above is the digipak so far, however we may change it in the future, I really love how it look, however, to improve I do not think that the bottom left square looks as good as the rest.
Website feedback
Below is the feedback which I received from the class from my website. There is some good feedback, which can definitely be used to improve my website in the future. I will try to take the feedback to my advantage to get the best possible grade.
The home screen having a little bit of everything
is really nice way to get straight into the action but it can be seen that some
text hasn’t been written yet for tour info and that album covers and track list
yet to be put in. Also the social media buttons at the bottom of the screen
don’t actually go to the artist’s social media accounts. The tour dates don’t
actually make sense, hoping around the moths going backwards and forwards in
time. The gallery obviously needs updating with another photoshoot from the
artist, also take out the selfies they don’t make you look professional. Also
pressing the “show more” tab on the gallery opens up a load of random stock
images from wix; would maybe remove this. I think the bio is too long, when I
initially saw it I thought “God do I have to read all that” if there is that
much there cannot be concise info on the artist, I just need to know who I am
looking at and where she came from and what she aims to be. The shop needs to
be assessed and actually worked upon with the creation of some products and the
removal of the filler that the website creator has given. Also would move the
basket button to be within the navigation bar. The font of text used is really
nice, clean and sharp. The artists brand is coming through, I actually really
like the geometric shapes in the background even if they are wix’s. I think the
artists style is coming across with it. Would maybe think about using a
different image of the artist at the top of each new page.
– With the gallery, add some more variety in
photos. Maybe dedicate a day for photo-shoot to boost up this gallery. Maybe
you could use these photos to use on merchandise that you need to finish.
AVA – First page needs completing otherwise looks
very good. Gallery all the same, different outfits. Music page needs adding to
as it is empty. Bio is a bit too long, wouldn’t want to read all of it. ‘Shop’
heading in lower case the rest are all CAPITALS. 6-10 Ben Griffiths
Really like the picture used on the home page. I
like the shapes on the side of the website but think they should go all the way
down. The links are a bit confusing as it doesn’t look as if the page has
changed when you click on a new link. The gallery page is good but need a wider
variety of photos and outfits. The bio is good and detailed but a bit plain.
Overall I like the colour scheme and think website is good. Ella O
Nice front cover. Don’t know why there gallery goes
to black and white of tattoos from nice and colourful photos? All dates should
be clear, bit confused by all this. Only 4 tracks on album and they’re all
named track 1-4. Nice merchandise page. The colours flow well throughout the
website. A lot of scrolling due to photo being on every page.
Photos look good but the background is weird and
don’t know what the random shapes are about, they don’t match the artist. Good
clear navigation bar which stands out. It is a bit samey samey and there isn’t
much of a variety of photos or text. Needs some more interaction. Needs more
colour. Bio is good nice to read lots of information about the background of an
artist, comes across as a professional artist. I think it needs to be a bit
more edgy seems very simple and girly. Shop has a different font to the others
on the bar and needs to be changed to capitals. Merchandise needs to be done
but overall interesting.
I like all the pictures you have used and the block
black bars you have used in the design. You have all the needed links and the
overall look of the website is really nice. Although the whole website is
unfinished with no actual text. So the website needs to be finished. Level 2-
4/10
I like the simple background Easy navigation –
everything looks neat Need to change default captions on Tour page Think header
image should change for every page Bio page too long – add images Level 3 – 8
By Angel
- Tour section isn’t complete, Merchandise are
overpriced, Gallery is very limited, I like the bio as it is very descriptive
6- The background is very simple but is very
effective, on tour dates, need to remove the paragraphs and write information
about the tour and Need your music video on the song page because is currently
blank.
all pictures look the same, like the fonts, colours
a bit boring, no info under the tours, lot on bio, no personalised merchandise.
6/10
6 - The front page looks good and the colour scheme
works well with the artist. Edit tour information. A lot of bio. Update the
shop. By Charlie
The website if quite unfinished, the home page
needs the album with the track list and you need to write information in the
touring sections. I like the layout of the home page as there is music,
pictures and news. The links to buy tickets need to go to somewhere like
ticketmaster. On the gallery there are still default images and all the photos
look very similar. There needs to be a variety of outfits and locations to make
it interesting. I don’t really know if the long biography is necessary as it
feels more of a Wikipedia page or article, it needs to be more personal. There
is no merchandise. Rating 5/10.
I like how there is a scroll on the galley –
however more pictures need to be added. Paragraph and links need to be added on
tour. Music link needs completing. Maybe cut down the bio on the bio link as
its quite long. Merchandise needs to be added. No social media links. Overall
id mark the website a 5. Kelsey
like the modern twist on the website, really suits
the genre of the artist. Gallery shuld include all different photos not all the
same outfit. Music front cover could be on the music link. Low level 3
I think you need some more pictures with a
different outfit on. I think that you should get rid of the picture names
aswell. eg. arms up no smile pt 2. I like the background. Need to add song
titles to album list. Need to put your logo on the merchandise.
need more variety of pictures in gallery, music&contact&shop
needs updating, biography is good and thorough, maybe the header picture could
change on each page? - 4/10 Level 2
Really good website, the images look good and
effective - represent the artist and highlights the synergy with the colour
scheme! The navigation is also easy, however i would add more images, as there
is only one image, so looks dull (Level 2)
Level 2 - The same picture is the whole way through
- want to see different shots to make it more interesting.
Music video feedback
Below is the feedback from the class when we showed them our music video. The feedback was really useful and I think I could use this to improve my music video in the future.
Really sweet video. Look into transitions and see if you can make it more logical. Balloons could flood into screen?
Really sweet video. Look into transitions and see if you can make it more logical. Balloons could flood into screen?
Some lip syncing is out, nice and cute. Could go to monkey
puzzle, balloons could cover up the screen and go crazy. Sort out the blurs.
Good shots, good mise en scene, some looks a bit out of
time, is all very happy.
Good theme, innocence goes with song meaning.
Only bad one is it is a little out of sync –other than that
it is so cute!
I said I liked the red digipak – but now prefer the yellow
to match coat. Lip syncing out. I like the hand held shots of laughing. Clever
idea of bucket list.
Excellent shot variety, everything is good, fluent theme.
Only think I’d say less of you and Alicia in the same room and position as its
bad quality and lessons the quality of the better shots.
Needs more for the drop as too many shots of the balloon
scene.
Flows well, lip sync needs to be improved.
Really like the narrative and the fun side of it, but needs
colour correction.
Not looking at the camera enough, lots of good costumes and
settings. Needs more cuts to the beat. It did use varied shot transitions, cut
to music more. More edits needed, you look fun, add some colour correction.
Some lip syncing is out.
Love the narrative, bucket list suits the lyrics. Good
variety of shots and outfits.
Really liked the flow, try to improve of stediness of the
camera.
Needs more locations and wider variety of shots. I like the
cute feel.
I like the happy, winter wonderland stuff, not sure about
the spoon singing but I get the idea.
Some of the lip syncing was out.
The theme of having fun and being young fits the song. Like
the shots on the rides. Include a wider variety of shots – wide/long etc. More
editing effects will fit the upbeat song.
Very unstill shots/unfinished.
I really like the idea behind the video and is enjoyable to
watch, however the shots were a little shaky at times when it wasn’t a go pro
and at times the lip-syncing was a little out.
Footage is really varied, lots of good locations. Minimal
editing, more would be good. Could use more interesting transitions.
Moodboard
Here is the moodboard for the final plan of our music video, we have chosen to go for a fun teen theme which is going to look really good and effective with the planning we have done.
Plan
Tomorrow I am going to go to Chelmsford town and film some more for my music video. I am going to get more fun, teen shots, the main thing what I want to do is go into the changing rooms in somewhere such as New Look and try on loads of clothing, which is bright and interesting to make the music video look as though I am having lots of fun. I am also going to go to places like Costa and have festive drinks. As well as walking under the Christmas lights. I have chose to do this after receiving the feedback from my teachers. I am going to try on some yellow clothing to use some more cross media synergy, as I have used yellow in my digipak, as well as in other parts of my music video.
Final AVA logo
Here is my final logo for AVA. I really love what it looks like and think it is a really cool and funky idea. I have used cross media synergy with the digipak, where I put all the AVA text together and added in the yellow to the hearts. I think this looks the most effective out of all the logos I have created so far.

AVA signatures
I have been practicing my autograph for AVA, this is important because she will have to sign autographs when more famous. My favourite one is the bottom one on the far left side, however I will choose which one I will do further in my project.
How I created part of my digipak
Above are the pictures which I used to create the final outcome of part of the digipak which is on the right hand side. I had to do several things to get the final piece which looks really effective. Firstly I wrote multiple AVAs out on a piece of paper in black thick pen, and then I took the logos onto PowerPoint and removed out the background so that it was completely white and clear. I also edited them so they were completely black and did not look hand drawn. I then pulled all of these pictures together in a composition which I felt looked best. I then, as you can see on the fourth photo along, I dragged these collaged photos together to make a bigger collage. Finally I went onto paint and added yellow into all of the hearts on the collage to make it look better.

Theme Change
Me and Ella decided to change our theme, from being quite dark and edgy to more of a fun, teen and up beat kind of style. We are doing this to show the fun you have at 17 and actually how great life is. The reason why we are moving away from the edgy style is because we did not want to make it look depressing and therefore not be relate able and aspiring for viewers and instead we wanted our video to be something which you could really enjoy watching.
AVA interview
Here is the interview which me and Ella did. We did it so that the viewer can have more of an understanding of what AVA is actually like. However, it is clear that the video is not perfect because of the camera being shown in a lot of the shots, and the place where it is filmed looking quite armature. However we did this to make it look down to earth and chilled out.
Tour poster
Above is the tour poster which we have made for AVA, we used cross media synergy to link this to our other products, as we have used the yellow colour, as well as the same layout of tours on the website. We have also used that photo on our digipak, this therefore creates good cross media synergy.
